What are hemorrhoids? They are protrusions or swellings in the anal canal (the lower part of the rectum) containing blood vessels. Some hemorrhoid patients notice bleeding when stool rubs against them. To simplify, there are two types: internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids.
Internal hemorrhoids: Originate from inside the anus and are of three or four grades. They may also be develop thrombosis (clotted blood).
– Grade 1: The protrusion is small and remains inside the anus at all times. Therefore, it is difficult to see without a proctoscope.
– Second degree: The protrusion is medium-sized and protrudes slightly outside the anus during defecation and then returns back inside spontaneously.
– Third degree: The protrusion is large and protrudes outside the anus during defecation. It often requires assistance with the patient’s fingers to return it to the anus.
– Fourth degree: The protrusion is large and remains outside the anus at all times.
External hemorrhoids: Originate from the outer surface of the anus, meaning they can be easily seen from the outside. They can also develop thrombosis (clotted blood).
External and internal hemorrhoids: These contain both of the above types at the same time.
Some important symptoms of hemorrhoids:
– Bleeding
– Itching
– Pain: This often accompanies hemorrhoids when they become clotted.

What is an Anal Fissure? It feels to the patient as if a wound is in the anus. Sometimes, if the patient continues to suffer from it for a long time, it becomes a chronic fissure accompanied by a protruding skin (skin tag), which is called Sentinel Pile (see the image).
Some symptoms of Anal Fissure?
– Pain. Especially during or after defecation
– Bleeding
